I love fishing creeks in the spring for fat smallmouth that have come up into the shallows for spawning. I also love the intimacy that comes with creek fishing. The Cedar Creek which empties into the Milwaukee River provides such an awesome opportunity for this kind of close quarters fishing. On Memorial Day 2022 I hike for 6 hours down the Milwaukee and up Cedar Creek. I get into some awesome spots where I basically site cast to smallies both top water and with the Ned Rig and I get some exciting action.
